This is one of the chiller bars of sf which i so appreciate! On the night i went, they had a live band play outside and it was nice to sit inside upstairs to watch as the main crowd was outside. The drinks are reasonably priced and yummy! They even had a special drink for the band I believe. I would absolutely come here again as an introvert that's scared of the bar scene!

A Must-Visit Gem in North Beach: Vesuvio Cafe" Having lived in San Francisco for two decades, I finally made my way to Vesuvio Cafe in North Beach. What a hidden treasure! The ambiance is captivating, with its rich literary history and quirky decor. As I sipped my reasonably priced drink, I couldn't help but appreciate the friendly bartenders who added to the experience. My bartender, Chase, epitomized the cool San Francisco vibe--attentive service, engaging conversation, and expertly crafted cocktails. The second-floor balcony offers a unique perspective of the bustling neighborhood. Next time, I'll raise my Highly recommended!

This is one of my favorite bars in San Francisco! Any night of the week, you can always find people of all age groups here. It's artsy and classic at the same time. Lots of vintage paraphernalia on the walls. Alongside many of these decades old items are gorgeous handmade artworks from local artists many of which are up for sale. One of the oldest and diviest bars in all of San Francisco, Vesuvio bartenders are friendly and cocky and not to be messed with. They will outbanter you if you try but trying is highly encouraged. One serious suggestion: do not get cocktails here. This is not the place to get a cocktail and if you do, be prepared to be struck by the horrible proportions of their cocktails like a lightning bolt. Get a beer like normal people. If not beer, get a glass of wine. I made the error of asking if they had a non-alcoholic wine so the bartender put me in my place and rightfully so. The music is chill and leans towards rock sounds and not loud. Great place to have conversations of both casual and introspective kinds. The clientele here is a treat. Everyone has a story on their face and you can read it if you pay attention. It's a different world in there. All in all, a great place to get a drink, catch up with your old friends, write a poem or just people-watch.

Cool bar with nice top floor view and outdoor seating in Little Italy. They have beer on tap and good classic options. It was hard to find seating on a busy night, but we were able to sit outside and enjoy the good weather. When I have sat upstairs, it was a cool people watching spot by the windows.
